Your cat's heritage
Our domestic cat belongs to the feline family
members of which include lynx and wildcats, as well
as the big cats like lions, tigers, cheetahs and
panthers. When we look at our pet cats, the family
resemblance in the stripes or spots of their coats, the
colour and shape of their eyes, their graceful
movement and � an important characteristic of all
cats � their keenly developed hunting skills. In fact,
throughout their evolution, large and small cats have
maintained almost all of the attributes that make
them supreme predators.
